Google has officially introduced the Google Pixel 9 series in India and around the world. The new lineup features numerous updates, including advanced AI capabilities and a redesigned look. Here’s everything you should know about the latest smartphones and accessories, beginning with the Google Pixel 9.
The Google Pixel 9 serves as the entry-level model this year, closely resembling the premium Pro variants in terms of design. It boasts a fresh matte glass back and comes in Google’s distinctive pastel hues. This compact device features a 6.3-inch FHD+ OLED screen with a peak brightness of 2700 nits, safeguarded by Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Under the hood, the Google Pixel 9 is powered by the new 4nm Tensor G4 processor, complemented by 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. Its camera system includes a 50MP main lens, a 48MP ultrawide lens, and a 10.5MP front camera for selfies and video chats. Both the front and rear cameras are capable of recording video in 4K at 60fps.
Additional features of the Pixel 9 include stereo speakers, a USB 3.2 Type-C port, and an under-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The device is equipped with a 4,700mAh battery and supports 27W wired charging, as well as 12W or 15W wireless charging with any Qi-compatible charger or the Pixel Stand.
The starting price for the Google Pixel 9 is Rs 79,999, and it is available in four colors: Porcelain, Obsidian, Wintergreen, and Peony. It ships with Android 14 and is guaranteed to receive updates for the next seven years.
Google Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL
The new Pro models enhance the standard Pixel 9 with additional hardware. The Pixel 9 Pro features a 6.3-inch 1280p OLED LTPO display, offering a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz and peak brightness reaching 3000 nits. For those preferring a larger screen, the Pixel 9 Pro XL provides a 6.8-inch 1344p OLED LTPO display with the same peak brightness of 3000 nits.
The more compact Pixel 9 Pro is equipped with a 4,700mAh battery, while the Pixel 9 Pro XL houses a larger 5,060mAh battery. Other than these size and battery differences, both models share the same set of features.
The Pixel 9 Pro models feature the latest Tensor G4 processor, 16GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of storage. They also introduce an upgraded camera system with a 50MP main lens, a 48MP ultrawide lens, and a 48MP telephoto lens offering 5x optical zoom. Additionally, both Pro models are equipped with an enhanced 42MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
The new Pixel 9 Pro series is available in four exclusive colors: Obsidian, Porcelain, Rose Quartz, and Hazel. The Pixel 9 Pro begins at Rs 1,09,999, while the Pixel 9 Pro XL starts at Rs 1,24,999. Both models run on Android 14 and are eligible for seven years of updates.
Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold,
the follow-up to the Pixel Fold, is now integrated into Google’s numerical device lineup. It features an 8-inch foldable LTPO OLED inner display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2076 x 2152 pixels. On the exterior, it has a 6.3-inch 1080p OLED screen, also with a 120Hz refresh rate. Both displays can achieve a peak brightness of up to 2,700 nits.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is equipped with the latest Tensor G4 processor and features 16GB of RAM along with up to 512GB of storage. Its camera system consists of a 48MP primary camera, a 10.8MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, and a 10.5MP ultrawide lens. Additionally, there are two 10MP front cameras—one located on the inner display and one on the outer screen.
