Ganesh Visarjan 2024: Discover the Date:- The 5th, 7th, and Anant Chaturdashi days following Ganesh Chaturthi are regarded as particularly significant for performing Ganesh Visarjan.

Ganesh Visarjan 2024: The festivities commenced on September 7 with Ganesh Chaturthi, as devotees across the nation set up idols of Lord Ganesha to celebrate the start of the ten-day Ganesh festival. The culmination of these celebrations occurs on Anant Chaturdashi, when the idols are ceremoniously immersed in water, symbolizing the farewell to Lord Ganesha. However, based on personal or regional customs, many also choose to perform Ganesh Visarjan on the 1.5th, 3rd, 5th, or 7th day of the festival.

Ganesh Visarjan Vidhi:

On Ganesh Visarjan day, present Lord Ganesha with his preferred offerings during the pooja, including Durva grass, Modak, laddus, vermillion, kumkum, rice grains (Akshat), betel leaves, betel nuts, cloves, cardamom, turmeric, coconut, flowers, perfume, and fruits. Recite the mantra “Om Shri Vighnrajaya Namah” during the ritual.

At the place where Ganpati was set up, whether at home or in the pandal, conduct an Aarti and Havan. Cleanse a wooden seat with Gangajal, mark it with a Swastika, cover it with a red cloth, and arrange the idol and offerings on this seat. Celebrate the Visarjan with music, drums, singing, dancing, and the sprinkling of Gulal.

Before immersing the idol in a river or lake, perform an Aarti with camphor, ask for forgiveness for any errors made intentionally or unintentionally, and wish for Lord Ganesha’s return the following year. As you gently immerse the idol into the water, chant the mantra “Om Gachha Gachha Sursreshtha, Swasthanae Parameshwar. Yatra Brahmdayo Devaah, Tatra Gachha Hutaashana.”
