NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique was killed in Mumbai.
Baba Siddique, a senior leader from the NCP faction led by Ajit Pawar, was shot and killed by unknown attackers in Bandra, Mumbai on October 12.
The shooting happened outside the office of his son, Zeeshan Siddique, near Colgate ground in Nirmal Nagar, according to PTI. Reports say two to three shots were fired, and police are investigating the incident. Siddique was taken to Lilavati Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. This tragic event occurred just before the Maharashtra Assembly elections Baba Siddique.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced that Mumbai’s police commissioner, Vivek Phansalkar, confirmed that two suspects have been arrested.

One suspect is from Uttar Pradesh and the other from Haryana, while a third suspect escaped the scene.
“This is a very sad event,” said CM Shinde. “I have spoken to both the doctors and the police. Two suspects have been caught; one is from Uttar Pradesh and the other from Haryana. A third suspect is on the run. We have directed the Mumbai Police to take strong action against anyone who breaks the law. I believe they will soon find the third suspect, and we will make sure strict measures are taken against those responsible.”

Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar expressed his sadness over the loss of his friend and colleague. He posted on X, saying, “The shooting of NCP leader and former Minister of State, Baba Siddiqui, who has served in the Legislature for many years, is very sad and unacceptable. I was shocked to learn of his death. I have lost a dear friend and colleague. I strongly condemn this cowardly act and pay my respects to Baba Siddique.”
BJP leader Kirit Somaiya expressed that Baba Siddique’s murder appears to be part of a larger conspiracy. He said, “This is a serious issue, and the government needs to form a special team to investigate. It seems like a big plot. We need to take strong action on this.”
