How to apply for the Ayushman Bharat card for senior citizens aged 70 and above under the health insurance scheme.

Ayushman Bharat card

Ayushman Bharat card provides all elderly citizens above 70 years free benefits without depending on any person’s financial status, as the government has ensured this health insurance coverage under the highly-profiled Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY).

Ayushman Bharat: Existing Coverage Eligibility

They will be allowed an additional annual top-up cover up to ₹5 lakh for themselves only and this benefit shall not be allowed to other family members, who are younger in the family. Such extra covers will entail different benefits and not form part of existing coverage through the family members. Furthermore, seniors eligible for this shall also be provided with a special card under the AB PM-JAY program.
